Mish – Mash (Red Peppers With Eggs And Cheese)

I cannot say that this is a traditional Bulgarian recipe, however, it is one that reminds e of my childhood every time when enjoy it (usually for breakfast). It is super easy, crazy delicious, full of goodness and quite cheap as well to be honest.



For 2 portions


3 eggs

60 g white (feta cheese)

2 red peppers

50 g tomato sauce (optional)

1 onion



Nutritional Value without the oil for the pan plus the tomato sauce:

Calories: 517 / Protein: 32.5 g / Carbohydrates: 35.7 g / Fats: 27.3 g / Dietary fibers: 8.7 g



1) Chop the onion, peppers, and cheese. The size of the pieces is entirely up to you.

2) Fry the onion and peppers in pre-heated pan for 5 to 10 min. Using oil is entirely up to you. We recommend butter or olive oil, however vegetable oil is fine too. The less refined the better. I you have non sticking pan you can skip the oil part.


3) If you are using tomato sauce, now it the time to add it. Stir and let simmer for 2 – 3 minutes until it gets ticker.


4) Add the cheese and the eggs. Stir and let simmer for 3 – 5 minutes on low temperature. Serve with grated Parmesan and fresh parsley. (optional) or just let your imagination create.
